Repairing Dunkermotoren D240 if it loses power or becomes noisy
The Dunker D240 motor is a robust AC drive from the older Dunker series for external venetian blinds and shutters. Unlike later models, the D240 does not have freely adjustable limit positions: the lower limit position is fixed, and the upper limit is controlled by the cut-off switch. Therefore, no adjustments are made. If the drive malfunctions, it is almost always due to a failing component within the motor.
Typical error pattern
Over time, a component in the motor loses power. As a result, the motor pulls the blind slowly and weakly, or becomes significantly louder during operation. It's also typical that the blind still goes down, but no longer starts moving upwards on its own. We replace precisely this component, after which the motor runs quietly and with full power in both directions.
- The motor now pulls the curtain only slowly or weakly.
- The blind still goes down, but the motor only starts to go up if you help it manually.
- The motor is humming or has become noticeably louder.
- Under load, the motor stalls or starts only with difficulty.
Repair without an electrician, thanks to the Hirschmann connector. Your Dunkermotor D240 is equipped with a Hirschmann connector (STAK/STAS), a coded and touch-proof plug connection. Simply unplug the motor, send it in, and then plug the repaired motor back in – no wiring or electrician required. The mounting bracket and shaft adapter remain in place. For safety, switch off the corresponding fuse before unplugging.
