Does your roller shutter curtain slide down uncontrollably after reaching the upper end position? Do you no longer hear a distinct clicking sound when the motor starts or stops? Then the brake is defective. It is located inside the motor's metal tube, along with the motor and gearbox.

Typical defects that we can fix with this product

• The roller shutter curtain unrolls uncontrollably after reaching its end position or from an intermediate position. The weight of the curtain itself triggers the movement because the brake no longer holds.
• With awnings, the fabric unrolls automatically because the brake no longer holds the spring force of the articulated arms.
• There is no longer a distinct clicking sound when starting or stopping the motor. This sound comes from the brake engaging and releasing. If it is absent, the brake is defective.
• The clicking sound is audible with a time delay. The brake then engages too late, and the blind continues to roll a little further before it is stopped.

We repair your motor through a modular replacement process. We use a particularly sustainable approach:

The motor head of your motor, including limit switch, control unit, and wiring, will remain intact. It will continue to be used because there is no defect.

The metal tube of your motor, in which the motor, brake, and gearbox are inextricably linked, will be replaced with a used, tested motor tube. As part of this repair, you will also receive a new capacitor. This ensures that the most common electrical wear parts are replaced at the same time.

The result is a ready-to-use motor at significantly lower costs than a completely new purchase, with a 24-month warranty on all replaced components.

The exchange process is this simple

You can order the brake repair via the shopping cart. You will automatically receive shipping information by email immediately after placing your order.

Shipping is via Hermes to a Hermes ParcelShop. This reduces your shipping costs and offers added security, as I personally accept all deliveries. Your motor will not be handed over to a neighbor or left unsecured in front of a door.

Shipments are picked up from Hermes Monday through Saturday. On the day of arrival, your motor will be repaired in our workshop. You will receive your invoice by email on the same day. You only pay once your motor has been successfully repaired. Return shipping via Hermes takes place on the day payment is received. If you pay by instant bank transfer, your motor will be shipped back to you the same day.

If brake repair is not sufficient

In rare cases, there may also be a defect in the motor head (limit position setting, control unit, wiring). In this case, we will assess the feasibility of replacing the motor with a new one and inform you beforehand. Since you have not yet paid anything at this point, you are free to decide whether you wish to have the motor replaced or to cancel the repair.

If the motor is beyond repair

In rare cases, a motor may be damaged beyond repair due to external interference or moisture. In this case, you have two options: We can dispose of the motor free of charge and professionally, or we can return it to you for a processing fee of €10 plus Hermes shipping costs.
